Expressions of Worship

Music – Throughout history, music has been used to celebrate, mourn, remember, give thanks, and call people together to worship God. During this time, we all respond to God differently. Some simply want to kneel in stillness; others sing, dance, clap or lift up hands in praise (as encouraged in the Psalms, c.f. 134:2, 47:1, 95:6). We encourage you to worship in a manner that is comfortable to you while honoring those around you.

Prayer – God wants both to speak to you and hear your heart. We invite you to converse with God throughout the gathering. You are always welcome to ask a pastor or members of our prayer team to pray with you.

Preaching/Teaching – God’s people gather to hear the reading and instruction of scripture for their benefit.

Communion – Jesus taught his disciples to remember his sacrifice as the fulfillment of the Passover through the breaking of bread and the drinking of wine, symbolizing his body and blood. All who worship Jesus are welcome at the communion table.

Giving – God created and owns everything, and therefore does not need us to give anything back! Members of God’s spiritual family joyfully give of their financial resources out of thanks for what God has given them in Christ (see 2 Corinthians 9:13).

Testimony – from time to time, God’s people publicly share what God is doing in their lives as a means of encouragement and communal celebration.
